SHOWDOWN POINTS THE GOAL FOR TYCO BMW RIDERS AT BRANDS HATCH

British Superbike Preview – Round 6, Brands Hatch

This weekend’s British Superbike round at Brands Hatch on the GP circuit signifies the midway point in the 2015 season, but with only four rounds remaining to secure that all-important Showdown spot – Tyco BMW riders Tommy Bridewell and Michael Laverty will be looking to score heavily in the points on Sunday.

Tommy Bridewell currently holds sixth place in the championship standings and will be looking to rediscover the form that brought him his debut victory earlier this season at Oulton Park.

Tommy Bridewell: “It would be fair to say that I’ve had a couple of very frustrating rounds, even though the BMW Motorrad package has shown so much potential. I’ve struggled in a couple of key areas, but the boys have worked hard to make me feel as comfortable as possible on the bike. The goal is to get the feeling we had at Oulton Park and if we can get in that sort of ballpark, then we can certainly be up there challenging on the Tyco BMW this weekend at Brands.”

Michael Laverty had his debut top three finish over-ruled at Knockhill last time out, but his short-lived visit to the podium has made him hungry for something similar at Brands.

Michael Laverty: “My priority over the next few rounds is consolidating a place in the Showdown. I’m really looking forward to Brands Hatch and even though it’s going to be a totally different animal to Knockhill, I’m confident that we have found a setting I’m comfortable with. Knockhill was the first time I have felt that confident all year, but I know I am still seventh in the standings, so my focus is to get into the top six. Overall I am expecting a strong second half to the season.”

Philip Neill – Team Manager: The championship reaches the halfway point this weekend and the battle for Showdown points is heating up, so we are looking for some consistency from both riders. In development terms the past few weeks with the S1000RR has been positive for us, and all being well the boys can turn that into top results this weekend. In Superstock Alastair also needs a strong finish to his weekend if he’s to close the gap to young Elliott at the top of the table.”
