Alastair Seeley will start from pole position in tomorrow’s Pirelli National Superstock 1000cc class at Snetterton after posting the fastest time in today’s qualifying on his Tyco BMW S1000RR.

The Carrickfergus rider will be looking for his second win of the year, as he explained: “I’m happy enough with the pace we have here at Snetterton on the Tyco BMW and it’s hard to complain when you are on pole,” said the Ulsterman.

“We made a few improvements to the front end of the bike today, which helped it turn easier and we will go in a similar direction for morning warm up. Overall the S1000RR package is working well here at Snetterton, and if we can get a good start I’ve couple of plans I can use depending on how the race goes.”

In the British Superbike class, Tommy Bridewell and Michael Laverty made good progress and will start from the second row in tomorrow’s opening race on their BMW Motorrad machinery.

Rain punctuated the qualifying session, which possibly assisted the Tyco BMW duo, who are looking forward to tomorrow’s races at the Norfolk venue.

Tommy Bridewell: “We didn’t quite have the pace for the front row here today, but the second row is a good place to start our weekend and we will be pushing as hard as possible to jump on the podium.”

Michael Laverty: “It might have ended up as a bit of a steal, but I believe I could have possibly sneaked a front row today but I couldn’t get back through the gears on my final flying lap. I struggled in the opening sessions but along with the team, we have chipped away and the second row is positive enough. All I need is a good launch, which will allow me to jump onto the back of the group and it’s all about hanging in then.”

Team Manager Philip Neill said: “Alastair didn’t take long to get back into the groove on our S1000RR Superstock bike and his goal tomorrow is all about closing that gap to young Elliott at the top of the table. The two of them seem to be in a slightly different groove than the rest this weekend, but that can always change on race day, although we are confident of a decent result.

“Tommy and Michael made progress today and while others got caught out with the weather in the Superbike qualifying, we took full advantage. We will not hide the fact we still have work to do, but second row for both riders gives them a great opportunity to run with the lead group; take what we can from race one then improve for race two. It’s only round four and we’ve got to keep pushing forward as we did at Oulton Park and chase those all important podiums on our BMW Motorrad machinery.”

Tomorrow’s Superbike races take place at 1.30pm and 4.30pm with Alastair Seeley in Superstock 1000cc action at 12.40pm
